Happy First Birthday Henry!
Henry turned ONE! This past week and weekend, we celebrated in style with both sides of the family up to enjoy the big birthday boy. We kicked off the birthday weekend reminiscing about Henry's birth one year ago, and for nostalgia ate at the pizza place where we ate the night before Henry's birthday. That night, my labor basically started at the pizza place, or at least where I could start timing contractions. I was glad that this time, I was pain free! :)
Henry's actual birthday on Friday was a day filled with his favorite activities and favorite foods. And since food is so important in our family, I'll take the opportunity to record his good eats here :). Breakfast of champions of bananas and eggs, lunch of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, cheese and yogurt, and a delicious dinner of carrots, beef, fruit and pasta. And plenty of puffs for snacks of course!
We took Henry swimming at the hotel pool where my parents were staying, including lots of splashing, kicking and squealing! A trip to the pa
rk for a picnic dinner, and we brought a push toy that Henry loved pushing far, far, far. Of course, swings and climbing too. And ICE CREAM for dessert! We had a blast and loved spending ti
me with Henry doing his favorite things.
On Saturday, Henry threw a party for his family and some of his friends, and the kids played outside in the baby pool, swing and with some of Henry's new toys. We sang Happy Birthday for like the 10th time to him, and saved the squish cupcake for the party. He dived right in, made a huge mess, and loved it! A quick rinse off in the pool and time for some ripping of the wrapping paper. We loved watching him play, enjoyed having a one year old, and reminisced about the past year.
