Catching Up
For someone who doesn't post that often, I've kinda been on a roll lately, haven't I? It's really only to make up for lost time. Yes, I do feel guilty that I didn't get my son's Happy Birthday post up until six days after his actual birthday. Sheesh. Way to go mom. They need to take away my wings, or pin, or whatever you get when you become a mom. My diaper bag and stroller and sweats, I guess. Except I really need those to make my life easier. They can take away my spit-up clothes instead. You definitely get those when you become a mom!
Anyway, yes, we've been extremely busy. We hosted tons of family the week of Henry's birthday, which kept us nice and busy, and of course celebrating kept us busy. Fun, and definitely felt an empty hole when everyone left. In addition, we've been house hunting! Gabe and I have been pretty seriously looking. We've looked at over 30 houses, and have narrowed the pool down. We still haven't found the perfect (or as near to perfect as we can get!) house for us yet, but we will. And we WILL move. This neighborhood just isn't for us anymore. Mostly, we don't feel that it is safe and we're ready to be in a family friendly place. And we're excited about having a new house all of our own. It is definitely a daunting purchase to buy your own home, but it will be good for us. We don't want to be renters forever, that's for sure. So we'll keep updated once that moves along.
My eyes are slowly but surely coming back to normal. Which is also why I feel like I'm able to post more. It just was too painful to be looking at a blurry computer and not really know what I was typing. Still not perfect, but more and more periods of good vision. I've just got to give it time I think.
Henry is balancing on his own more and more. Still no more interest in walking really though. He still doesn't love balancing either, but will do it for a little bit. At least long enough for us to get a few pictures! We're excited to be on the verge of walking, but still letting him take his time. He loves looking up at the ceiling or sky when he balances, a new perspective I guess.
Not sure why these pictures are small, but just going to go with it since I need to make dinner soon!
Practice with dad
Standing all by myself and proud of it!
And the overalls Henry's sporting? Roundhouse, a brand made in daddy's hometown in Oklahoma! Just call Henry Bob the Builder :) Or Handy Manny. Two shows I've actually never watched so I'm not sure which one he looks like more in the overalls, but the orange does make him look like a construction worker. I'm sure I'll learn soon enough....
