it was a good friday

okay, this was actually on Thursday, but it's just too cute not to share
anyways, there were carousels to ride
with lots of lights and music to look at
big hats and boots to wear
water to shoot
and splash in

and naps to take

there were lighthouses to climb
and sand to dig in
some little baby perfected the butt scoot in order to get herself down to the ocean. and the little boy in the background when unafraid into the waves despite the freezing cold air and freezing cold water. it's going to be a fun summer at the beach this year! and yes, that's me being E.T. in the back - it was cold!
it was a good friday indeed

Maggie Girl

My little Maggie turned one last March.
The whole month leading up to her birthday, I was in denial.
The day of her birthday, I was in denial.
Now, a month later, I'm still in denial.

Easter 2012

Eggs were died

and the Easter Bunny visited
Smiles after church!
And happy to be able to wiggle her toes :)
which meant, it was time to hunt for some Easter Eggs!

We told Henry that the bunny left some pink and orange eggs for Maggie. She was a happy girl to find some treats in her eggs after shaking them all
Henry was really excited to find lots of eggs. At the beginning he kept asking, "Is this for me?"

Some more challenging hiding places this year
sorting through the loot

Vest look familiar? Yep, third year in a row. 2012

gosh, he looks so little here!

Happy Easter!

March 6th

March 6, 2011

  • Doctors begin the process of inducing Pam, and we spend the night in the hospital
  • So we spend the night in separate beds
  • I sleep on the hospital couch/bed thing
  • And don't get much sleep
  • As we're awoken in the early morning hours because Maggie is emphatically letting it be know that she is ready to be born
  • (The nurses and hospital staff coming in and turning on the lights didn't help)
  • Later, on her birth day, she fell asleep for awhile curled up on my chest

  • Pam has been sick all day with the stomach flu (and at times probably wished she was in the hospital)
  • So we spend the night in separate beds
  • I sleep on the bed downstairs
  • And don't get much sleep
  • As we're awoken in the early morning hours because Maggie is emphatically letting it be know that she doesn't want to sleep in her crib, or daddy's bed
  • (Henry getting out of bed and turning on the light didn't help)
  • So I'm back on the couch, on her birthday, with Maggie asleep on my chest
March 7, 2012
  • Happy 1st Birthday Maggie!
  • (And thankfully Pam's feeling better today)

we've had...

a lot of this....
and a lot of this.....

and a lot of this in the month of January and February.

Feel so bad for my sick babies who have been alternating between flu, colds, and ear infections. Someone in my house has been sick since January 21. So far five trips to the doctor and they say "thanks for keeping us in business." I wish that weren't the case. I'm thankful these are all minor illnesses but I wish my babies could just shake the colds they keep passing back and forth and are gracious enough to share with me. So far, Gabe has been spared and we need him to be our doctor - he's done a fantastic job keeping the house running and everyone as happy as possible. Although I'm not minding all the cuddles I'm getting and giving to all my babies; it would be nice to get everyone's moods back to normal. Last January and February were filled with gallbladder, low birth weight and bed rest, this winter with all the sicknesses we can squeeze in. I want to douse my house in Lysol. Here's to spring coming soon and clearing all this junk out of the air!
